Spring

I haven't written about discovery lately. But that doesn't mean I haven't been discovering. My life has been full of self-discovery. And less travel than I would like. But creativity, yes. And wonder, every day.

Only two people saw me the other day studying...in a tree. Then no one saw me standing there out in the middle of a limb, 12 feet off the ground, with my backpack on, talking on the phone. But there I was. And I loved it.

China 中國

Today's the day. I'm leaving for China. Again. Yep, remember when you were a little kid digging in the sandbox with a little plastic shovel (or maybe one of Mom's kitchen spoons she never saw again) and you said something like, "I'm going to dig SO deep, I'll go all the way to China." That's the place, although I'm not going to dig my way there. I'll fly. And maybe if I make it all the way to where I need to be, I'll just keep flyin' with all this nervous energy I have pent up inside me and I'll survive. If I make it to where I need to be. Bring it on!

Sunrise to Sunset

I love waking up early when the morning mists blanket the mirror of the lake's surface. I love the vibrant colors of the setting sun. This is just one day. No wonder I'm in love with this place!

These kinds of discoveries always draw me nearer to God. The awesome majesty of His creations as well as His awareness of the details of my life leave me humbled and reverent.

Discovering something new is always so exciting to me. Always an adventure. And there's just so much to discover in this world.

So, I've decided to discover blogging. And after a summer of discovering beautiful colorful places, I even thought of a title. If you know me well, you know there's more to my title than that!
